Project Description
This map is a locator map for an article about the Powers Creek Habitat Improvement Project. I made this map for the Trees Foundation, a long-standing voice and multifaceted supporter of environmental causes in Northern California.
Powers Creek is a tributary to the Mad River, near the town of Blue Lake, CA. The creek is becoming increasingly recognized for its potential to provide habitat to threatened species such as Steelhead, Coho, and Chinook Salmon. If natural vegetation is restored, and upstream runoff and sedimentation are reduced, local threatened species recovery is thought highly likely. You can read the article here.
